Château L'Hermitage Lescours et Château Mongiron Acquired by Chinese Investor

Jian Hong (Owen), a 35-year-old Chinese entrepreneur from Beijing, has acquired both Château L'Hermitage Lescours and Château Mongiron, marking a significant milestone in the estate's history.

The acquisition was finalized on October 22, 2018, with Owen Hong purchasing both properties through his wine club 'Champlus' based in Beijing. The transaction represents a strategic investment in premium Bordeaux wines, with Owen expressing his commitment to quality over quantity. The properties include Château L'Hermitage Lescours (4.12 hectares of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru) and Château Mongiron (11 hectares of Bordeaux Supérieur).

The 2015 Château L'Hermitage Lescours impressed Andreas Larsson with its intense dark purple color and complex aromas of ripe dark fruit, new oak, leather, and tobacco. The palate shows high concentration with fine extraction, featuring notes of coffee bean, cassis, plum, cherry, sage, and aniseed. Larsson notes it will improve significantly but is already excellent.
